2ND.SCENE.HOMEPAGEBedelia C Hargrove received a Bachelors of Arts degree from Seton Hall University in Political Science and Public Administration in 1992 and a Juris Doctorate degree from Georgia State University College of Law in 1996.  Bedelia began her legal career as an Associate Attorney in Atlanta at a reputable civil litigation firm in 1997.  Bedelia opened the Hargrove Law Firm in 2003. Bedelia specializes in fiduciary litigation, probate and estate administration, estate planning, personal injury and wrongful death cases, as well as general civil litigation.

Bedelia has served as a Judicial Hearing Officer for the Fulton County Probate Court since 2008, in which capacity she oversees the County’s mental health hearings at Grady, Atlanta Medical Center and Atlanta Medical Center (South).

Bedelia has also served as a substitute Judicial Hearing Officer for the Dekalb County Probate Court since 2014, in which capacity she oversees the County’s mental health hearings at Georgia Regional Hospital.

Additionally, Bedelia has served as the Attorney for the Fulton County Grievance Review Committee since 1997, in which capacity she oversees the County’s employee grievance cases, provides legal representation to the five member committee, and works integrally with the Fulton County Attorney, County Manager, and Personnel Director.

Bedelia is admitted to practice law in the State Courts of Georgia, the United States District Court-Northern District of Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals, and the Georgia Supreme Court.

Bedelia is a member of the Fiduciary Law and Entertainment and Sports Law Sections of the State Bar of Georgia and she is a member of the Atlanta Bar Association. Bedelia formerly served as Vice Chair of Sports for the Entertainment and Sports Law Section of the State Bar from 1999 to 2004.  During that same time, Bedelia was a certified player agent with the Women’s National Basketball Player’s Association and she represented athletes in contract and endorsement negotiations.

Bedelia is the Founder and a member of the Board of Directors of CaroLee’s Lighthouse Foundation, Inc, a Georgia non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring and empowering today’s youth to achieve their dreams and goals one day at a time through the pursuit of academic excellence.

Bedelia also serves as an Officer for the Fulton Life Enrichment Foundation, Inc., a Georgia non-profit organization devoted to supporting children and youth health programs in Fulton County, Georgia through fundraising and public education.

Bedelia was appointed to serve on the Board of the NAACP, Atlanta Branch in 2015. In that capacity, Bedelia will Chair the Legal Redress Committee.

Bedelia has resided in Atlanta since 1992.
